Many years ago, after years of helpless invalidism, when all material means had been exhausted, I was restored to health and strength through the loving ministrations of Christian Science. At the time it was brought to me, I had been in bed for fourteen months, not having walked in that length of time. I was so weak I knew very little of what was going on around me; I was unable to move myself at all, and was being fed on essence of beefsteak, a tablespoonful at intervals of every few hours.
I had a sister who had moved to Billings, Montana. There she had become acquainted with Christian Science, and had written urging me to have treatment. When the physician told my family that nothing more could be done for me, and all thought the end was near, my mother wired this sister to have a practitioner work for me. We knew nothing of Christian Science. The practitioner was two thousand miles from us. Through her faithful work, her loving and encouraging letters, and my dear mother's obedience in faithfully following her instruction to read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to me, slowly but surely my healing came.
In the years that have followed many and varied have been the experiences through which I have passed—deep waters and fiery trials—but through them all Christian Science has been a beacon light leading me onward out of darkness into the glorious light of Truth. My children have been healed many times, and I have been healed of deafness of a number of years' standing.
