Among the Churches

Current Notes

The Bangor Daily News

Bangor, Maine (First Church).—Two very simple but appropriate services, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, on Sunday, December 5, 1937, marked the dedicatory observance of the new First Church of Christ, Scientist. The edifice is conveniently located on French Street, in a fine residential district, yet on the outskirts of the business section.

The building was begun in the late summer of 1935, and replaces the former chapel, which had become too small for the needs of the growing congregation.

The local church, a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in accordance with the custom of all Christian Science churches, was dedicated free of debt.
