When first I touched the healing garment of the Christ,...
When first I touched the healing garment of the Christ, Truth, I was suffering from many ills of the flesh. In fact, I was preparing for an operation for gallstones, appendicitis, and hemorrhoids, when a good neighbor asked me to try Christian Science. She sent me to a practitioner, whom I hoped would encourage me, as I did not want to die and leave my newborn baby. The more I spoke of my ills, the more the practitioner told me of the healing truth. When I went to bed that night, I felt worse than ever; nevertheless, I slept like a child all night. This was the first good night's sleep I had enjoyed in months. I awoke in the morning healed. Faulty eyesight and heart trouble had also vanished, although I had not mentioned them to the practitioner. These healings took place many years ago, and there has never been a recurrence of any of the difficulties.
Many times I have proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's opening statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (Pref., p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." When I have leaned on this truth, it has never failed to sustain and bless me.
I am very grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for class instruction, and for the many joys which Christian Science affords me and all mankind.
