Never can I sufficiently express my gratitude for the healing which I received through Christian Science, a healing which still seems miraculous to me as well as to most of my friends.

Over two years ago I nearly died from a severe heart attack. I was immediately taken to the hospital, though I was unconscious. In less than a month four more very serious attacks occurred, in each of which the doctors and nurses expected me to die.

Although I had dear friends who were Christian Scientists, I had never had the slightest interest or confidence in this Science. Consequently, it was nearly three weeks before I was willing to have any Science treatments. Finally, I realized that I should never recover with the ordinary medical aid, so I asked for treatments from a practitioner. By the grace of God she was able to be with me nearly all day at the hospital, the day that I was the lowest. From that time on I began to mend, although I was so weak it was about two months before I was able to leave there. Finally, with the help of the practitioner, I was able to go to friends and begin the preparations for the long voyage through Suez and Gibraltar to New York. Through daily studying the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was able to make this long journey unaccompanied, and without any fear, seasickness, or recurrence of heart attacks.
