It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony. "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." This was exactly my case. I was suffering from a so-called incurable disease of the lungs, and was seemingly at the end of my rope. Discouragement and utter hopelessness filled my thought, for there seemed to be no way out of this confusion. Then suddenly my thought changed, "a still small voice" spoke, and I was led to write to a friend who I knew had been in Christian Science for many years and had had many proofs of God's care and guidance.

Upon receiving a reply from her, I immediately began to study the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, in connection with the Bible, as she advised. With the help of a practitioner and "an absolute faith that all things are possible to God" (Science and Health, p. 1), I was completely healed.

Christian Science also has been a great help to me in understanding true happiness and joy. I used to be very unhappy. Life did not seem to hold much for me. But through perseverance, constant study, and the unfoldment of Truth, I have been led out of a false sense of happiness, into the spiritual sense of it.
