Topic: The Strength of Man

Lincoln has well been called the "Great Liberator." He stood for human freedom. It was during his administration, and due to his uplifting influence, that African slavery was destroyed in our nation. But the fight against slavery of various types continues. One is inclined to wonder at times if the fight against the various phases of slavery today is being waged as vigorously as Lincoln fought.

Today we see mankind bound by slavery of different kinds—slavery to fear, to down-dragging habits, in fact, to various attitudes of thought which are neither developing nor helpful. One's progress will be in proportion to the degree of success he has in destroying these various phases of slavery.
