Many years ago I first heard the name "Christian Scientist" and asked a friend, "Who are Christian Scientists?" The reply given was, "They are a body of people who believe that because God is everywhere pain is nowhere." I had always been taught to believe in the omnipresence of God, but this reply, logical and arresting, introduced a new thought to me, and after a few hours of thinking over this I found I was healed of an abscess in my mouth without having used any material remedy. A dentist had declared that this abscess was the worst he had seen in any mouth, and he could not understand its rapid healing.
