Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Connecticut.

There is cause for continued gratitude that the press of the state holds Christian Science in respect and esteem. Leading daily papers in several cities continue to publish the fairly complete texts of Christian Science lectures. Complete texts of lectures were printed by papers in Bridgeport, Norwalk, Bristol, Waterbury, and Torrington. Substantial portions were printed by papers in several other cities.

The leading newspapers of the state are still receiving the Lesson-Sermon excerpts selected by this Committee. Twenty-five publish them regularly. These selections continue to be the only direct quotations from the Bible to appear in the press. Fourteen papers continue to publish religious articles from the Home Forum page of the Monitor. The editor of one of the large daily papers continues to be appreciative of the value of these articles in meeting human needs. He gives his own display heading, the article always being in a prominent place. One heading follows: "Law of Love Revives Many a Weak person. Repentant sinner, struggling with temptation, finds strength as thoughts are united with God."
