Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is within you," that is, in your own consciousness. Christian Science teaches that God is everywhere. I proved these truths some time ago. While pruning a very old apricot tree at a height of fourteen feet from the ground, I was conscious of being let down headfirst, and I came with a crushing thud onto my head, and rolled over onto my back. When everything seemed to be going dark, I felt the presence of Mind, God, and declared audibly, as well as I was able, "the scientific statement of being," as given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Before I was halfway through, a lovely sense of peace and love came into my consciousness. I denied all suggestions of broken neck, ribs, or injured organs, and all suggestions of matter, and claimed my real spiritual selfhood. The ones who found me there were very much concerned and full of fear, and one lady said, "I am sure you must have broken bones."

I mentally denied every statement, and assured her that I was all right. Presently I was able to get up. I found that the branch on which I had been standing contained a borer, which had caused decay to set in at the fork of the branches, and the branch had broken just at this point.

After a short rest I decided to go home. My daughter was at business, about five minutes' walk from the place where I worked, so I went there. I told her what had occurred, and she immediately got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner, who was by my side in half an hour. The latter took me in her car to her home, where I stayed and had treatment till my son arrived several hours later to take me home. I am deeply grateful to the practitioner who stood faithfullyl by me for a few days till the demonstration was made. I do humbly and gratefully express my thanks to our Father-Mother God for this quick healing received through Christian Science.
