From Letters, Substantially as Published

In your issue of October 24 an evangelist is reported as saying that Christian Science denies "the fact of matter." For many years physical scientists have said that matter is not substantial, and that the only way to explain matter is to explain it away.

The evangelist said further that "it [Christian Science] denies every fundamental of Christian faith." Not once after Mrs. Eddy made her spiritual discovery of the oneness and allness of God, did she falter in her serene understanding of the logic of Christian Science. On page 358 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy says: "Christian Science, understood, coincides with the Scriptures, and sustains logically and demonstratively every point it presents. Otherwise it would not be Science, and could not present its proofs."
