At the San Diego Exposition

The Christian Science Monitor building at the Exposition reopened this year on February 12, at 2.30 o'clock. In spite of a heavy rainfall on that day, one hundred and sixty-seven visitors were welcomed within the doors. One of them, a woman, told how last year, while reading the Lesson-Sermon in the reading room of the Monitor building, she had been aroused from the apathy which had influenced her for the previous two or three years so that she has since attended Christian Science church services and read her Lesson-Sermon during the week regularly.

One of the new and interesting exhibits is in the form of a mechanical book upon which a fresh copy of the Monitor is placed daily. The leaves of the book turn automatically so that each page may be inspected. This exhibit stands in the center of the main display room. The room previously used for the children's exhibits has now been refurnished for the use of those who wish to read the Monitor.

Churches in California are invited to contribute to the expense of maintaining this exhibit, and many of them have gladly done so; but upon the churches of San Diego County has fallen the greatest responsibility. The Trustees under the Will of Mrs. Eddy and the Trustees of The Christian Science Publishing Society contributed to the cost of the exhibit for the year 1935.
