Wednesday Evening Meeting

When I have come where human hearts
Are prompted by the urge to praise
The God of life, to whom belong
The power and beauty of our days;

And from the silent wells of prayer
Spring floods of love and gratitude,
While hearts lay bare, in childlike faith,
The simple mysteries of good;

May I bring to that holy pace
A thought of love so pure and strong
That I may share the joy of praise
That breathes in each heaven-prompted song.

And, as I join in voicing good,
May I be also quick to share
The gracious task of listening
In gratitude and humble prayer.
