Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

A member of one of our churches writes of our radio programs: "I have had occasion to interview an employee of one of our large retail establishments. In the course of the conversation this man told me that, although he is a Presbyterian and from Scotland, he never goes to bed on Friday until he has listened to our program. 'The subjects,' he stated, 'are interesting and instructive.' When I asked him what had struck him most forcibly in regard to the session, he said, 'The fact that Christian Science is a beautiful religion.'"

Another instance of effect effect our programs are having was shown at the Rest and Reading Room at the Royal Agricultural Show. A young girl requested a Sentinel dated last February, as it contained an article on the Lord's Prayer. The members of her family, she said, are not interested in Christian Science, but they heard the article read during one of our programs, and thought it so beautiful that they had since been endeavoring to get a copy of the Sentinel.

A gentleman whose duties keep him employed in the city until a late hour on Friday nights writes: "For several months I have heard the Christian Science program through a radio in Lyons' Cafe, Swanston Street. The program is heard by those having supper and by those making purchases at the counter. In addition, people stand on the footpath listening to the message." This gentleman informed me that there are sometimes fifteen or sixteen people on the footpath—all quietly listening.
