In the first verse of the fifteenth chapter of Proverbs it is written, "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." I trust that I shall not be deemed heedless of that admonition when I say that our critic, "A man in the street," is completely mistaken and lamentably misinformed in his estimate of the character and life of Mary Baker Eddy.

There are available at this time three authentic biographies of Mrs. Eddy, all of which can be obtained from any Christian Science Reading Room on loan and free of charge, or may be read in most public libraries.

Further, Mrs. Eddy wrote an autobiography entitled "Retrospection and Introspection," which is well worth consideration and study by those, and they are many, who are desirous of becoming acquainted with the facts about her.
