I wish to add my testimony of praise and gratitude for the healings which I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. This wonderful truth was presented to me about fourteen years ago as a religion that would make me happy and would heal as Jesus did. At that time I was a very worldly man, suffering from an acute form of rheumatism which the physicians believed was incurable, or at least would leave me a cripple for life. After being told about the many wonderful healings my friends had had through Christian Science, I decided to ask for help from a practitioner, and to my surprise I was healed in a very short time.
Then I started studying the Bible in connection with Mrs. Eddy's textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and have found in them the truth which will heal and does heal every form of sickness and sin. After several days of this poor business I decided to work harder, but with no results. On retiring that night, I suffered from what is called ptomaine poisoning. I read, studied, and prayed most of the night, trying to heal myself, but without results. As morning dawned, the porter, chopping wood in the yard, started singing the old song,
