"A grateful heart a garden is"

Everyone loves a garden filled with beautiful flowers. Here one finds freshness, sweetness, fragrance, beauty, peace.

The Christian Science Hymnal may be likened to a garden where we can go daily for refreshment. Each time we open this book we find a precious thought telling us of God's allness, His impartial, universal goodness, and we rejoice and praise God for these messages of divine Love, which bring us courage, hope, and cheer.

Christian Scientists are deeply grateful for their Hymnal. Many can testify that burdens have been lifted, problems solved, difficulties overcome, and sickness healed through the singing of these hymns. The one whose heart is truly grateful is the one who is learning that God is infinite good, and that evil in whatever form it appears is unreal. Yes, the Christian Scientist is learning to rejoice that Christian Science has been revealed to the world, and his gratitude goes out to Mary Baker Eddy, the revelator in this age of the great truths which Jesus promised would make us free.
