Your issue of May 25 contains an account of a meeting of the Chiswick Brotherhood and Sisterhood. In the course of his remarks a speaker, referring to Christian Science, said, "It cannot prevent pain in spite of what Mrs. Eddy wrote." This is not correct. The Christian Science periodicals contain many verified records of the healing of disease and the removal of pain through Christian Science treatment.

The healing works of Christ Jesus included the removal of every form of human discord. Pain and suffering were instantly healed by him. In fact, when John the Baptist sent to Jesus to know if he was the Christ for whom the world was waiting, his reply was: "Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them." These works were the demonstration of Christian Science.
