Item of Interest

This column has selected a few interesting messages from the incoming letters handled one morning, during the last days of the year 1935, in the executive offices of The Christian Science Board of Directors. They give intimate glimpses into the experiences of Christian Scientists in various parts of the world.

A member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship writes of his visit to Mexico City, where he gave his lecture and then heard it read in Spanish. The audiences, he says, "were nearly equal, a few more attending the English lecture." He and his wife attended the Wednesday evening meeting and the Thanksgiving service; at both services testimonies were given in Spanish. These activities were helpful and encouraging.

A correspondent in Malacca, Malay Peninsula, expresses gratitude for the "wonderful, beautiful text, for this past week" (December 15), and continues: "I think I have never read a more beautiful text, and I will thank you with all my heart. It has been a good help to me. All here in our little group say the same." He refers either to the Lesson-Sermon for the date given, which is entitled, "God the Preserver of Man," or perhaps to the Golden Text, "The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
