Confusion is without Authority

Paul , in his epistle to the Corinthians, made the positive and inspiring declaration, "God is not the author of confusion, but of peace." And many students of the Bible have doubtless found this statement of the great apostle enormously helpful to them when endeavoring to free themselves from a confused state of thought. These words of Paul are particularly illuminating when read in the light thrown on them by Christian Science.

Christian Science reveals God as infinite divine Mind, the source of real intelligence and of true spiritual thinking. Furthermore, Christian Science shows that divine Mind is the one and only cause or creator; hence, the one source of all real power and authority. Then, since God, Mind, is not the author of confusion, it has no authority, no actual existence, and no real presence or power.

Confusion, then, has no place in the Mind which is God, infinite good. The belief of confusion exists solely and only in the so-called mortal mind. It is therefore no part of the experience of man, who is created in God's image and likeness, and who is the exact reflection of his creator. But in human experience confusion is seemingly manifested in various ways. There appears to human sense, oftentimes, to be confusion of thought and consequently confusion of action. This sometimes seems to reach the point where it can only be adequately described as "confusion worse confounded."
