Do we really love people? It is a searching and salutary question. Do we really care about people? Some of us care about truth. Some care about right. Some care very much about peace. But do we care about people? Have we a deep and vital interest in others such as gives them a real place in our lives? Do we really value people as individuals? There is something very challenging about this question. It goes to the roots.
