Christian Science was brought to me at a time when I was...
Christian Science was brought to me at a time when I was suffering from great physical and mental despondency, and since then, as the result of its study and application, my whole life has been changed and regenerated.
The first time I attended a Christian Science testimony meeting, I had an experience which showed clearly how one may benefit by hearing of another's experience. A testimony was given which included the following quotation from the Bible: "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink." This statement arrested my attention. At that time I had great fear of eating, having undergone two operations which had failed to give the desired freedom from an internal trouble. I was impressed by this testimony and was healed instantaneously. Often I dwelt upon this admonition and ever afterward ate whatever I thought fit; and the healing has been permanent.
I have had many healings, including that of the smoking habit, effected shortly after taking up the study of Christian Science. This Science gives one health and strength, more joy and contentment, and more love for one's fellow man day by day. I am grateful for a better understanding of the Bible and a truer sense of God's allness. Christian Science has been a constant unfoldment during the last twelve years. I have had many trials, but have never lost sight of the goal toward which I am aiming; and I am very grateful for these experiences. I find that it is only by patiently striving to gain the good and the true concept of God and His idea that one reaches "the Horeb height where God is revealed" (Science and Health, by Mrs. Eddy, p. 241).
