Praise

I praise Thee, God, for all Thy tender care,
For freedom from the tempter's subtle snare,
For health and peace 'midst error's fearful night—
And consciousness of Thy unfailing might.
I praise Thee that Thy love hath put to flight
The lowering clouds, which would obscure Thy light.
I praise Thee that Thine arms shall always be
Above, beneath, forever circling me.

I praise Thee for Thy ever-present power
That humbles me with love each passing hour;
I praise Thee that temptations and that loss
And trials sore have helped me touch the cross.
I praise Thee for the vision I obtain
Of God and man, and this I will retain;
I praise Thee that Thou art the perfect Mind,
Enduring, true—unutterably kind.
