In your issue of March 23 a letter entitled "Attendance at Church" is published.

In this, the writer speaks appreciatively of the "beautiful side of the gospel teaching, that of the love of God and its healing power," which is insisted upon in the teachings of Christian Science.

This kindly tribute is, however, preceded by a misconception of the philosophy of Christian Science. The philosophy is based on the teachings of the Bible and Christ Jesus entirely. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes in her book "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 2), "To-day we behold but the first faint view of a more spiritual Christianity, that embraces a deeper and broader philosophy and a more rational and divine healing."

In the same book, under the title "Science and Philosophy," she devotes an entire chapter to this subject. This can be studied at any Christian Science Reading Room, and provides authoritative information on the question.
