Magnify the Lord

HOW jubilant are the Psalms with their recurring words, "Praise the Lord"; "Exalt the Lord"; "Let the Lord be magnified"! As consciousness dwells in thoughts of praise to God, how little room is left for thoughts of error, self-pity, and resentment!

Good comes to us through magnifying the Lord; for when our thought of God is increased, error in our thinking of necessity must be decreased. God and error cannot be magnified at the same time. Our peace, joy, and happiness depend on whether we are making good or evil the chief factor in our lives. If we are giving all our attention to the good and the beautiful, our lives will be governed by the law of good; whereas, if our troubles and mistakes look large to us, we are liable to be dwelling in a pitiful mental state of self-condemnation and misery, instead of being conscious of the presence of God, good.

No amount of thinking can enlarge infinite Mind, God; but it is certain that right thinking will enlarge our realization of God's protecting care in our individual lives; and as the consciousness occupied with thoughts of God is increased, so will the manifestation of the good which we realize be increased for us.
