In order to correct, for the benefit of your readers, some of the misrepresentations in an article on Mrs. Eddy and Christian Science which appeared in your issue of January 10, please allow me space for the following statement.

Mary Baker Eddy is the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science and the author of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." She established The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, which, with its far-flung branch churches and societies, its Publishing Society, its Board of Lectureship, is generally recognized as a great religious movement.

From her early years Mrs. Eddy was of a deeply religious nature and a student of the Bible. It was through knowledge and inspiration gained from prayerful study of the Scriptures, and her own remarkable spiritual healing, that she discovered Christian Science in 1866.
