Christian Science has done so much for me and mine during the past thirty years that I should like to share with others some of the many blessings that we have received through its gentle ministrations. Sixteen members of our family have tested and proved its efficacy. Being one of this number and the pioneer in the family, I have had many opportunities to prove its healing and saving power, spirituality, physically, and financially.

From childhood I was a sufferer from ills too numerous to mention, so that by the time I reached womanhood I was almost a physical wreck, and in a mental condition akin to despair. I had been brought up in a Protestant faith, and while I had learned much that was good and helpful in its teachings, for which I shall ever feel grateful, there was much that seemed contradictory and far from satisfying. Physically ill and heavenly homesick I seemed to have reached the limit, and kneeling at my bedside I again mentally appealed to the great Physician thus: To whom shall I go but to Thee? With these words came a stronger realization than heretofore that God and God alone could make all things clear to me and deliver me from the bondage of my fears.

In a very short time and in quite a remarkable manner my prayer was answered when a friend, with whom I had not been in touch for a considerable time, called, bringing with her a copy of Science and Health, and at the same time relating to me her healing of an internal trouble through the teachings of Christian Science. Knowing that I had been in delicate health in the years gone by, she asked me if I would like to try it. I had never heard of it before, and did not know what it was until she explained to me that it was divine healing. This appealed to me, so on her invitation I attended a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, where I heard some wonderful testimonies which might have seemed incredible to me had I not learned previously that the power of God had inspired them. Later I was directed to a practitioner who ministered to my many needs. This whole experience was another beautiful proof that God does hear and answer prayer, and it reminded me of the Scripture which says, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."
