In the year 1907 I first learned of Christian Science
In the year 1907 I first learned of Christian Science. My husband had a wonderful healing of stomach trouble for which we were very grateful, as he had been a sufferer for a number of years and had been unable to find relief. This made me realize that there was something in Christian Science.
I was an active member of a church, was perfectly satisfied with my way of thinking, and was in good health; so I did not think I needed Christian Science. Soon after this I was taken very suddenly ill with spinal meningitis. The physician who was called soon announced that there was no hope. Then I was asked if I would try Christian Science. I was willing, but it seemed impossible for me to get rid of the intense pain. A practitioner was called. She was most loving, and asked me if I believed God could do all things. I told her I thought He could. I fell asleep while she was with me, and to my surprise felt much better when I awoke. I slept well the next night, and in a few days was up and able to attend to my home duties.
