It is with a heart full of gratitude to God, also to Mrs. Eddy, and to all the loving ones who have been a help to me, that I write this testimony. My mother was healed through Christian Science of severe neuralgia of the stomach after the doctors had told her she had only a few days to live. This healing took place when I was a baby. Christian Science being new at that time to this locality, we read and studied as best we knew how. A few years later I began attending the Christian Science Sunday School in a near-by city. I can never express my gratitude in words for the privilege of attending Sunday school. My two children are now having the same privilege, for which I am indeed grateful.

I should like to mention a healing which took place while I was attending school. An attack of measles had left my eyes in a very bad condition. A doctor who lived next door came in one day and told my parents I should always have to wear glasses; that he had never seen worse eyes, and that my parents were by no means to let me go back to school without dark glasses. I did go back to school in a few days, but could stay only half a day as I could not even see the print. We immediately called a Christian Science practitioiner, and in two days I was back in school, my eyes stronger than ever. This healing took place when I was twelve years of age. My eyes have never given me any trouble since, which proves the truth of Mrs. Eddy's definition of "eyes" on page 586 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "Spiritual discernment,—not material but mental." When rightly applied Christian Science has always met my need.

I am extremely grateful for membership in the local church and also in The Mother Church; for the authorized Christian Science literature; for all the other activities of The Mother Church; for the privilege and help of class instruction, and for much loving counsel. I know my gratitude will best be expressed in actions and in striving to help others as I have been helped.
