In March, 1920, I had an attack of fever, similar to typhoid, together with various complications; in fact, it seemed that nearly every part of me was out of order, with the exception of my lungs. I was in bed nearly three months, finally recovering enough to resume my work. With difficulty I managed to keep up that winter with the help of chiropractic treatments; but these, too, lost their helpfulness, and the spring of 1921 found me a wreck, able to work but little. I continued with different doctors, always feeling sure I would find one who would know what I needed.

By the fall of 1921, I could eat scarcely anything with comfort. I was a shadow of my former self, and Specialists said I had tuberculosis of the kidneys and would not be able to live in Los Angeles another winter. Then an acquaintance proposed that I try Christian Science, and gave me the name of a practitioner. I went and had a treatment. By this treatment I was healed of smoking, a habit of many years' standing. I was also healed of stomach and bowel trouble, fear of what I ate, and of the fear of taking cold. During the ensuing eight years I have used no medicine.

I have had help in business problems, and the wonderful privilege of constant attendance at church services, both on Sundays and Wednesdays; also of attending many lectures. For these privileges I am very grateful.
