My family and I have experienced many wonderful healings through application of the knowledge gained through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My first demonstration was a healing of blood poisoning through accidentally running the scissors into the back of my hand. At that time I knew very little about Christian Science except the spiritual interpretation of the Lord's Prayer and "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, pp. 16, 17, 468). It was late in the evening when the accident occurred, and, feeling dizzy, I wrapped a cloth around my hand and went to bed. When I awoke I could not move any part of my body, so my husband lifted me into a chair and placed my books in front of me. At first I thought I could not remain in the chair, but I started to read and in a short time found I could turn the pages of my books. Later in the day I wrote a four-page letter to my daughter. My arm was much swollen and discolored, but the swelling subsided the following day and in a short time the discoloration also disappeared.

On another occasion I caught my heel in the carpet and fell the whole length of the stairs. Although my entire side was bruised, I experienced no pain in walking about, and the abrasions soon disappeared.

I am very grateful for class instruction, for membership in The Mother Church, and for our literature, which has been a joy and a comfort to me for over twenty years.
