It is three years since Christian Science was brought to...
It is three years since Christian Science was brought to me. During this time I have had the privilege of proving that Truth, as revealed in Christian Science, does heal every inharmony, mental, moral, physical, or financial. While reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of the tobacco habit, both smoking and chewing; and I also laid aside glasses and arch supports.
With the understanding I have gained of this truth, I have been instantaneously healed of colds by declaring that Love is infinite and ever present. For years I had been subject to periodical attacks of a form of influenza of the nose, which manifested itself in nasal and throaty soreness, and accompanying discords. This condition had to be treated daily by a nose specialist for a period of two to three weeks at least once each year. When I had been in Science for about five months, this condition manifested itself early one Sunday morning about two o'clock and awakened me from sleep I immediately declared the truth, and in a few minutes was asleep again. When I awakened at my regular hour, I was entirely free, and the trouble has never since returned.
I am also grateful for the beautiful healings I have witnessed in my family. My mother has been healed of constipation of over thirty years' standing. She has also been quickly healed of grippe, sciatica, and other ills. A little six-year-old child in my household has been healed of measles, whooping cough, sties, mumps, and bronchial pneumonia, without material help. The healing of bronchial pneumonia was completed in about thirty-six hours. I am exceedingly grateful for the peace, joy, and power that have been brought into my life through the unselfed love of our revered Leader, and also for the help gained from her works.—Edward M. Schwartz, Washington, District of Columbia.
