My first experience in Christian Science occurred in early childhood, when I was instantaneously healed of biliousness by reading a testimony in the Christian Science Sentinel. However, even though we had the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in our home, and there was no sense of opposition to its teachings, we did not become actively interested until a number of years later, when we moved to our present home and had the opportunity of at tending a Christian Science Sunday School. I am grateful for the healing of nasal hemorrhages; also of a very annoying cough which had reached such a stage that I was afraid to exert myself for fear of strangling. In this instance I asked a practitioner for help, and the healing was accomplished in a short time. I have also had a complete healing of a nervous breakdown.

Christian Science has lifted me out of the abyss of despondency, due to grief, bitterness, a broken home, and fear of my fellow-man; and is daily awakening me to a fuller understanding of God as Love, instead of an unjust and unmerciful ruler, as I had formerly thought Him to be. I am deeply grateful for membership in The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts, and also in a branch church. My heart will ever go out in gratitude for class instruction from a loving, loyal, and alert teacher of Christian Science.
