"If ye continue in my word, . . . ye shall know the truth...
"If ye continue in my word, . . . ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." These blessed words of our Master were brought to me in their full spiritual import through the helpful thoughts of Christian Science practitioners. Mere words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science. I have so much to be thankful for. By absent treatment I was raised from what appeared to be my deathbed. In a far-distant city I was taken with double pneumonia. Medical aid had despaired for my life, and after everything possible had been done for me in a material way, hope was given up and my family in Cleveland telegraphed to. Through the courageous persistence of a Christian Science practitioner and also of my family in holding to the truth of being, I was healed, and in three weeks was able to take a trip of six hundred and twenty-five miles.
Again, through this marvelous truth, I was raised from a bedfast state by the aid of a patient and tender practitioner, who, through the light of Christian Science, exposed to my all too material eyes the nothingness of selfish indifference, also the false testimony which pointed to a tubercular condition and all of its attendant evils. This was overcome during the severest of all the winter months, proving that God's care is everywhere present, neither climate nor place being a factor in this wonderful healing power. Uric and septic poisoning, rheumatism, indigestion, crooked and ulcerated wisdom teeth, and extreme nervousness—all of these falsities were conquered and absolutely defeated by the practitioner's steadfast denial of evil and tenacious application of the truth so clearly revealed by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
I am grateful indeed for the healing, which has been a revelation to friends and relatives; but I am happy to be able to say I am doubly grateful for the mental change this Science of Christianity has brought to me. The sense of peace and contentment is ever available; we need but open our thought. To quote from Isaiah, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee."
