For several weeks I had been working very hard and for long hours, and one night was awakened by severe pain that from a material standpoint seemed very serious. I worked on it somewhat, dismissing it, however, rather than overcoming it, and finally went to sleep. I was awakened the second and third time, and then realized I must work for myself as we are taught in Christian Science. The pain was so severe that it was necessary for me to declare the truth aloud, and I finally spoke these words: "Divine Love fills all space." In this declaration the word "space" seemed to stand out. No material objects are included in space, as defined spiritually. As this thought came to me, I was instantaneously healed.

I am grateful for every Christian Science activity, especially for membership in The Mother Church, for that has been the anchor which has held me whenever pressure of business or prosperity has inclined me to drift. The wisdom of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, could not have been other than divinely inspired in formulating all the means through which this truth is given to and kept before the world. I hope I may never again turn from the endeavor to make my life speak my gratitude for Christian Science.
