I have been helped so many times by articles in the Sentinel that I wish to give this testimony of the healing of our daughter as a slight expression of my gratitude. This healing was accomplished by absent treatment, and has always stood out to me as one of the most perfect and complete in my experience.

Our daughter was about eleven years old when she was stricken with what looked like paralysis on one side. Her mouth and one eye were drawn down, she could not use her hand to feed herself, and there was a continual twitching of the muscles. I had been studying Christian Science about four years and had had class instruction, but was unable to see the nothingness of this error, although I had received many proofs of healing. I asked a near-by friend to help, but there was so much fear that there was no relief. My husband went to a physician and described the case to him, and he said there was every indication of a severe case of St. Vitus's dance. He came home and told me and the battle began. But I was sure that if God could not heal that child no one could, and there the argument ended, because I knew God could and would.

I decided to write to my teacher, who lived many hundred miles away, and ask her to give treatment, which she did for about one month, when the child was perfectly healed. She was out of school six weeks, and when she went back there was a problem as to how she would make up the lessons required in the school. We lived on a farm, and the children drove to town every day to school. It was winter, and it was necessary for them to come right home from school in order to get back before dark. The child was not put back in any of her classes. She stayed only three or four nights after school. At the close of the school year she had the highest honors in the room. The teacher said to me that she thought it was remarkable after being out so long. She said, "Why, she did not lose anything," which was perfectly true.
