Some time ago you carried an article entitled "Killing Devil Is Subject Up." In this article a minister is quoted as making some very uncomplimentary remarks regarding Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and also some references to Christian Science which, if not corrected, might leave a wrong impression in the minds of your readers.

The statement is made that Christian Science and some of the other religious denominations referred to "are all founded on the philosophies of men." This conclusion is not correct. The first and second tenets of Christian Science, as given in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, are as follows (p. 497): "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."

"We acknowledge and adore one supreme and infinite God. We acknowledge His Son, one Christ; the Holy Ghost or divine Comforter; and man in God's image and likeness."
