It is about twelve years since I first heard of Christian Science

It is about twelve years since I first heard of Christian Science. At that time I was living with my parents, and I saw what wonderful healings some of my relatives had through Christian Science. These demonstrations convinced me that this must be the true religion; and, later, on leaving home, I bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It was a long time before the light penetrated the darkness and I understood even a little of what this book contains; however, I never again resorted to material remedies. I have experienced numerous blessings, especially during the last few years.

Christian Science has proved to be an ever present help. This I was able to prove at the birth of our two children. The belief, too, was overcome that one of them could not be brought to life. After my sister had informed the practitioner of the condition over the telephone, the child uttered its first sound. In the second case, I had been having Christian Science treatment for some complaints which had manifested themselves, and which had made me anxious. One after the other was overcome by the truth, and a quick and harmonious birth was the result. This experience was cause for great gratitude, for it brought with it a better understanding of the teachings of Christian Science.

I experienced a further blessing two years ago. One morning when I awoke both my thumbs were badly swollen and covered with large red spots. When I worked they were painful, and this condition continued for three weeks. I then went to visit my parents, and the second day I was there I called on a practitioner and asked him for help. On the fifth day, when I returned to my home again, there was not a sign of the trouble left.
