Problems and Attributes
One of the primary purposes of Christian Science is to help humanity, and in this is manifested its essential Christianity. In its practical application to the needs of humanity it has been proved to be comprehensive enough to solve all problems.
Jesus said, "I must work the works of him that sent me;" and he did this in the most acceptable and practical way. John states, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." These two Scriptural statements epitomize the essence of Christian endeavor, including within their scope the fullness of the Master's mission to mankind. To one who reads the Bible intelligently there can be no question as to the nature of the works of Christ Jesus. Through his understanding of Truth, he healed "all manner of disease among the people," and even raised the dead; and he answered in the most practical way the question, "Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?"
Humanity needed help in Jesus' time, and it needs help to-day. Its problems are many and varied; and in its perplexity it has tried many means for their solution, means mainly material and for that reason unsatisfactory. Christian Science presents a purely spiritual method for the solution of all problems.
