When Christian Science was presented to me by a dear one over twenty years ago, I did not want to hear about it, and was very antagonistic to what I thought it to be. But after an instantaneous healing from headaches, from which I had suffered ever since I can remember, I was so uplifted that I knew Christian Science offered something I needed. There had been times when the pain was so severe I could scarcely bear it. Christian Science has also healed me of very severe colds and burns and the effects of some bad falls. It has healed me of what my friends called an ungovernable temper. It has healed me of the desire for wine, first used by me while under doctor's orders when I was a young woman. It has made me a much better and happier woman in every way, for it has taught me what real Love is—God.

I am also very grateful for another wonderful proof of what this Love can do. It saved two others and myself in a severe thunderstorm while in a rowboat on a lake in the Adirondacks. It was reported that we were all drowned, as our condition was seen from the land, but no help could be given us. Love gave me wonderful strength and courage; for I can truthfully say that I had no fear. I am also grateful for the strength and protection I received during five years in Scotland while taking care of my aged parents.

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a loyal branch church; for class instruction; and for our dear practitioners who have never failed to help me when I have asked for help; for all the dear friends who have helped me; for our Church Manual; for our literature; for our Reading Rooms; for our wonderful lectures; for all the other activities provided by The Mother Church; for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and for that noble woman, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, who has made it possible for us to apply the truth. I am truly grateful for all the great benefits Christian Science has brought to me for these past twenty years, during which I have had no other help but Christian Science treatment.
