For the past ten years Christian Science has been my mainstay under many circumstances, which I could not have worked out of without the help of this truth.

At one time I seemed to experience extreme mental darkness, in which the argument of death was very insistent. With the loving help of a practitioner, however, this condition was healed; and while the healing was slow it was sure, and I learned many valuable lessons. After this it seemed that every human support was taken from me, and I was compelled to put my little daughter in a school and seek a position.

After a number of weeks of discouraging endeavor to convince business-men that I could do stenographic work after being at home for so many years, I was finally led into a small office where the need was urgent, and was given an opportunity to demonstrate my ability without any questions being asked. While the compensation seemed inadequate, I found, after taking the position, that I could do my work and the work in an adjoining office, where there was need for my services; and in a short time my income was considerably increased. Shortly after I took this position my little daughter had inflammatory rheumatism and I was compelled to take her from school. After a week of absent treatments the practitioner called. To begin with, my little daughter was propped up on pillows with her feet resting on a stool; but soon after the work was begun she kicked the pillows off the stool and beat her feet on the wooden stool to show she no longer had any pain. This was quite remarkable, as she had cried out with the pain in her legs and arms whenever touched. She was healed from that hour, and soon afterwards walked perfectly. In school the case had been diagnosed by the attending medical nurse as spinal meningitis. I was also healed at this time of influenza, and I am grateful to say that during this period we were so well taken care of that I was not absent from my work for a single hour.
