I feel it my privilege and duty to send in a testimony

I feel it my privilege and duty to send in a testimony. During the time I have studied Christian Science our children and I have had many physical healings for which I cannot find words to express my gratitude; but I am most grateful for a growing understanding of what God is and of man's relation to Him.

Our eldest boy had been troubled since birth with what the doctors called chronic constipation. We had him treated by different doctors, but without relief. He rarely had a natural movement, and every few months would be ill for several days. A doctor said that when he became older he would probably have a complication of diseases. This caused me a good deal of worry. I took up the study of Christian Science when he was six years old, and had a practitioner give him several treatments. Some help was received, but in about six months he seemed to be very bad again. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 1) we read, "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." I seemed to have that faith, and felt it was my work to heal him; so I held very close to the truth. At one time several days passed without normal action. Then I went to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, and a sentence on the wall taken from Science and Health (p. 494) caught my eye. It read, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." This appealed to me so much for our little boy that I repeated it many times. I also maintained that there is only perfect action in Mind. The next day action was natural. It is over ten years since then, and the healing has been permanent.

I also rejoice in the demonstration made through Christian Science when our fourth child was born.
