It is now over nine years since I took up the study of Christian Science; and during that time divine Mind has been my only medicine, and divine Love has met my every need.
I have had many problems to solve, but thrbugh entire reliance on Truth they have been met and overcome; and I can sincerely say that God has been my "refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." My gratitude is called forth by all the love and kindness of practitioners and friends, so lovingly and willingly given in time of trouble.
I should like to mention one physical healing which I experienced during the summer of 1921. I was asked to go and stay with my sister while the rest of the family were on holiday. I did so, and while there I seemed to be taken very ill with what had been previously diagnosed as appendicitis. This was on a Wednesday afternoon, and I thought if I could only manage to attend church in the evening I should be healed. But when the time for church arrived I found it impossible to walk, so I asked for help from a practitioner, whose services were willingly given. During the night I seemed very ill, and my sister, not being interested in Christian Science, became very fearful. But for the peace that came to me, consequent upon my absolute reliance on God, I can never express my gratitude. Although at the time my healing seemed slow, I was perfectly healed. For the greater desire for spiritual understanding, the knowledge of the truth that makes free, and for all the blessings of this experience I am truly grateful.
I have been wonderfully helped many times by the thought of God as the only intelligence, and by these words from our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 215), "Whatever is governed by God, is never for an instant deprived of the light and might of intelligence and Life."
I am also very grateful for my husband's interest in Christian Science, and for the peace and harmony of our home; and I desire to demonstrate my gratitude by daily walking in our Master's footsteps.
