In a recent issue a report was given of the anniversary meetings at Richmond Hill, and a speaker is reported as classifying Christian Science with religions opposed to Christianity. This shows how little the speaker is acquainted with the true nature of Christian Science, and it may convey a false impression to your readers. Christian Science is not a new fashion in religion, as the speaker implied, but is in accordance with the theology of the Bible which is set forth from the first chapter of Genesis to the last chapter of Revelation, the theology which Christ Jesus understood and practiced, and which has been expressly revealed in our day through Mary Baker Eddy. Through the teachings of Christian Science its students learn that the mighty works of Jesus were not contrary to God's law, but were the manifestation of His law; and they learn that it is still man's duty to carry out the command of Jesus to heal the sick.

In the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 110): "In following these leadings of scientific revelation, the Bible was my only textbook. The Scriptures were illumined; reason and revelation were reconciled, and afterwards the truth of Christian Science was demonstrated. No human pen nor tongue taught me the Science contained in this book, Science and Health; and neither tongue nor pen can overthrow it."
