With deep gratitude for all the blessings I have received...
With deep gratitude for all the blessings I have received in Christian Science, I wish to give my testimony. For fourteen years I hardly knew what it was to have a well day. I had been in the hospital three times for operations, and I felt that I never wanted to go there again. Then a mastoid infection developed, and the doctors said I could not live a week without an operation; but I would not consent to it, as I had already been through so much. At this time a friend telephoned and asked me to try Christian Science. I told her I did not want anything to do with what I then thought Christian Science to be, but she said it would do me no harm. I thought this over, and decided to try it; so sent for a practitioner. The practitioner lovingly told me that God is ever present; and as she brought out the beautiful truths of Christian Science, my heart was filled with gratitude, for I had found the religion I had always longed for. I asked for treatment and received an instantaneous healing. I was healed at the same time of chronic bladder trouble and many other ailments.
With this healing came the desire to know more about God. I bought the books and began to study; and I am so grateful for the unfolding of Truth that I gain each day through the study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. In our family we have had many healings—of pneumonia, blood poisoning, influenza, scarlet fever, and an instantaneous healing of mumps. I have also laid aside the glasses I had worn for twelve years, and have not needed them since.
For all the blessings I have received physically, mentally, and spiritually, I am humbly grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I am also grateful for the wonderful privilege of class instruction, and to the loving practitioner who turned me from sense to Soul. With a deep sense of humility I desire to consecrate my life to God, as understood in Christian Science, and to let my life express my sincerity and my thought His praise.
