[Original testimony in German]
Since 1918, I had been troubled very badly with asthma...
Since 1918, I had been troubled very badly with asthma and heart disease. All that the physicians tried in order to heal me or relieve me was only temporarily successful. I had repeatedly heard of Christian Science, but it was not until 1920 that I decided to attend the Christian Science services and bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and also the Herolds. I then began to attend the services regularly, and commenced to feel better; but still a great deal remained obscure to me. In the latter part of 1924 I decided, therefore, to engage the help of a practitioner. It was lovingly given, and through it I have made progress in Christian Science and have gained the victory over a complaint of long standing.
When I was a child of five I had chicken pox. This affected my eyes, causing my sight to become very weak, so that from the age of twenty years I was able to read and sew only with the aid of glasses. Thanks to the liberating teachings of Christian Science, this error has also yielded. I can read and work without glasses at an age when, according to human belief, one's eyesight wanes.
I am sincerely grateful to our heavenly Father, who has provided only good and health for us at all times. I am also grateful to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who showed us the way to divine Truth so loyally, and to the dear practitioner who helped me gain an understanding of Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Helene Unger, Dresden, Germany.
