I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings which...
I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings which Christian Science has brought into my life. I first began to study Christian Science in January, 1912, and since that time I have not taken any medicine. I did not come to Christian Science for healing, but because my religion did not satisfy me, and my concept of God had caused me to lose my sense of love.
I have been healed of chest complaints, lung trouble, influenza, colds, and many ailments. I scalded my leg badly, but through knowing the truth I was free from pain in about half an hour, and the leg was perfectly healed, with no mark, the next day. I am most grateful for the regenerating power of Christian Science. I was very hasty in temper, irritable, and worried about every little thing that did not go as I wished, and I was very disagreeable to those with whom I lived. Now they do not find me difficult, and life in the home is harmonious and joyous. Lately I have been especially grateful that I have lost so many fears,—fear of taking cold, fear of meeting or speaking to people, fear of teaching before other teachers,—though I know there are still many false beliefs to be overcome. I am most grateful for all the works of Mary Baker Eddy; for all Christian Science literature, which always meets our seeming need; for class instruction and membership in The Mother Church; for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school, and the joy of helping others; for a better concept of God; and for the knowledge that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," as our Leader tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494).—(Miss) Elinor S. Jennings, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.
