In reply to the points raised by your correspondent, "Jen," we have to say that a Christian Science lecture is what it purports to be, namely, a lecture and not a discussion. In I Corinthians we read, "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." But Mrs. Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 254), "During the sensual ages, absolute Christian Science may not be achieved prior to the change called death, for we have not the power to demonstrate what we do not understand." As the student of mathematics establishes his position by first demonstrating or proving the elementary problems set him by his master, so the student of Christian Science endeavors to demonstrate his understanding of divine Principle by healing sickness and sin before claiming the final reward which will come when every mortal fault has been destroyed.
