With deep gratitude I wish to testify to the wonderful blessings which my family recently experienced through Christian Science.

Our little daughter, then three years of age, became suddenly ill with high fever, and two doctors diagnosed it as a serious case of appendicitis. An operation was to be performed the same evening at the local hospital, but my wife and I could not agree to it, as we had been acquainted with Christian Science for some time and had received many blessings therefrom. We had more confidence in God's omnipotence, in Love, Truth, and Life, than in human methods; and the same evening we asked for help in Christian Science, which was readily given. The next day the doctors came again to point out the dangers of postponing the operation, saying that peritonitis was likely to develop, and then the child would be lost. They wanted to return in the afternoon, but we telephoned them not to come any more. When we were free from fear, the healing progressed rapidly, and soon the little one slept peacefully on her side, whereas before that she had been on her back in severe pain. She improved hourly, and in the afternoon asked to lie on the sofa. Her appetite returned naturally after she had eaten nothing for three days, and she wished to be dressed. On the seventh day she visited me at my business.

We are deeply grateful to God for this wonderful proof of divine Love, and to Mrs. Eddy, who has given us the beautiful truth of the Christ-healing through her faithful work. My wife, who experienced wonderful blessings through Christian Science, even during the war, is also diligently studying its teaching, in order to know more of the truth. Christian Science is all to us, and our savior in every need.
