"Go ye into all the world"

JESUS, after his resurrection, gave his disciples explicit instructions to "go ... into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." How can we apply this to our everyday experience? Does it literally mean that we should travel around from city to city? Christian Science has already been accepted by many people in thousands of cities throughout the world, and there is hardly a place at the present time where there cannot be found a group of loyal laborers or some earnest worker voicing the truth concerning God and man's relationship to Him. Truth has been presented to the uttermost parts of the earth.

Christian Scientists have abundant opportunity to put into practice what they understand of God's truth each day, wherever they may be. They can always realize the truth whatever the erroneous situation which may seem to be asserting itself, and can refuse to believe the false reports concerning man held by mankind. Our desire and prayer should be for God's kingdom to come. Jesus taught that "the kingdom of God is within you," and also that "the kingdom of heaven is at hand," thereby showing that the kingdom of God or heaven is a mental state. As this realization comes clearly to our consciousness, we can readily reverse every report that is unlike good.

In the Daily Prayer, given on page 41 of the Church Manual, by Mrs. Eddy, we are told that it is our duty as members of The Mother Church not only to pray daily that all sin shall be ruled out of ourselves, but also to pray for others,—"and may Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!" How can we express His Word so as best to help others? Jesus' commandment was, "Thou shalt love ... thy neighbour as thyself;" and one way in which we can love our neighbor and do good to others is by refusing to accept false statements about God's children when presented to us in the news of the day.
