Christian Science is in every way opposed to the use of suggestion or will-power, to the influence of one human mind upon another, or to the tendency to resort to any lesser means than sole reliance on God for healing. In her book "Rudimental Divine Science" Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has stated on page 9: "To heal, in Christian Science, is to base your practice on immortal Mind, the divine Principle of man's being; and this requires a preparation of the heart and an answer of the lips from the Lord."

In order to live and practice his religion, the Christian Scientist must become imbued with a clear conviction of God's omnipotence and omnipresence. Christian Science teaches that God is all and that whatever militates against a man's health, harmony, or holiness is an error that can be controlled and overcome by Truth. We come to feel and know in Christian Science that God alone governs man, and that one can have the consciousness and the ensuing good results of this fact as he becomes spiritually-minded or seeks first the consciousness of good.
